The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course is one of the UK’s most popular workplace first aid programmes. On completion, you will have completed recognised first aid training that meets the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This course is suitable for both workplaces and individuals seeking essential life‑saving skills.

What you'll learn

Emergency Response
  • Understand the First Aider’s role and responsibilities
  • Assess the scene and act safely
  • Call emergency services when required
  • Conduct the Primary Survey (DR ABC)
CPR & AED
  • Perform CPR on adults
  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely
  • Identify common difficulties during resuscitation
Recovery Position & Monitoring
  • Place a breathing casualty in the recovery position
  • Conduct ongoing checks on breathing
Wound Care
  • Control bleeding effectively
  • Treat minor cuts, grazes, burns and apply bandages
Medical Emergencies & Choking
  • Recognise heart attacks and strokes
  • Respond to seizures and other medical conditions
  • Identify and manage airway obstruction
Shock, Fainting & Practical Skills
  • Recognise signs of shock or fainting
  • Provide immediate first aid support
  • Apply safe moving and handling where relevant
